DRINKING WATER WARNING
TEMPORARY WATER SHUT OFF AND BOIL WATER ADVISORY
Water service to Duke Manor Apartments will be temporarily shut off on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at approximately 7:30 a.m. for important maintenance on water infrastructure in the area. Once water service is restored, customers will need to boil their water until further notice to protect their health, because microbes that could cause illness may have entered the water supply.

If your address is not listed above, you are not impacted by this boil water advisory.
DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST.
Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for at least one minute, and let it cool again before using, or use bottled water. Until further notice, boiled and/or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation. Boiling kills microbes in the water. People with severely compromised immune systems, infants, and some elderly may be at increased risk. These people should seek advice about drinking water from their healthcare providers.
The Bureau of Water has no evidence at this time that the water is not safe to drink. The possibility exists that the water is not safe to drink. The Bureau of Water is issuing this advisory as a precaution. General guidelines on ways to lessen the risk of illness by microbes are available from the EPA Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 800-426-4791.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
Important maintenance work must be done to the water main that serves this address. Water service must be temporarily shut off to complete this work. A drop or loss of water pressure may allow disease-causing microbes to enter the water system. These microbes include bacteria, viruses, and parasites which can cause symptoms such as nausea, cramps, diarrhea, and headaches.
WHAT IS BEING DONE?
The City will begin the maintenance work on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at approximately 7:30 a.m. Water service will temporarily be shut off during the work. After water service is restored, customers should boil water before drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, or cooking.
Updates on this project will be available at https://water.cityoflancasterpa.gov/updates/. We will also inform you when all maintenance work has been completed and when you no longer need to boil your water. For more information call the City of Lancaster Water Quality Laboratory from 7:00 a.m.–3:00 pm. at 717-291-4818. All other times call the Water Bureau’s emergency number at 717-291-4816. Please share this information with other people located in the areas noted above, especially those who may not have received this notice already.
